Matthew Jay is flat out the best artist that I have ever listened to.
Because of this, it is not difficult to write gracious things about him.
The first time I listened to his album I never skipped a song. I almost
didn't want the next one to come on because I wanted to play the first few
again. Out of respect for him, I continued on. My favorite song on the
smooth flowing "Draw" would be "Remember This Feeling" It is not only a
song to sing in the car, but one in the shower, or anywhere else you go.
But there is one part of "Please Don't Send Me Away" that honestly gives me
the shivers every time I hear it. It is the music that sets it off. Right
after the instrumental break before he breaks in with "Look up and see the
angels, the gates have opened up for you, I hope your mind is peaceful, and
love is everything you do" there is a buildup of music. I don't know what
it is about it but every time I hear it, I sing out as true as I can with
those words. He is an amazing artist. He has changed my life, and
completely changed the kind of music I create. The world is a better place
with Matthew Jay in it to sing to us all.
